“I studied acting with Naomi Bailis for three years. These years of exploration under her guidance are still the foundation for my approach to any theatrical work or text. The emphasis she places on honest communication with a scene partner and vivid creation of time and space to service the storytelling are inseparable from my actor’s process. Naomi’s ability to make different tools of acting (Meisner repetition, Shurtleff’s Guideposts, three quarter mask work, etc.) accessible and useful to me at the beginning of my training is the reason I now feel I always have a key to freeing myself up in my work. Anyone who has worked with Naomi will say that she is the real deal. Being in Naomi Bailis' studio means feeling a supportive space where everyone is committed to stretching themselves past their perceived limits, coming out with new ideas of just how many ways we can show up as shapeshifters, architects, and communicators. I am currently an actor in the North American Tour of Hamilton: An American Musical, where I cover three principal roles. I can confidently say that my ability to perform three different narratives, while giving sensitivity and honesty to each character’s function in the piece, is largely a credit to Naomi’s handprint on my artistry. “
